Purpose
This Policy Statement sets out the professional standards and commitments of Sonic Accounts in providing bookkeeping and BAS services to clients. It ensures compliance with the Tax Agent Services Act 2009 (TASA2009) and the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) Code of Conduct.
- Professional Conduct
- I am a registered BAS Agent with the Tax Practitioners Board, registration number 26324357 and a member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers, registration ID: 0545062.
- I adhere strictly to the TASA2009 Code of Conduct, acting with honesty, integrity, and competence.
- I maintain confidentiality of all client information in accordance with legal and ethical requirements.
2. Continuing Professional Education
- I undertake ongoing professional development to remain up to date with relevant laws, accounting standards, and best practices.
- I participate in at least 90 hours of continuing professional education over a three-year period, in line with ICB requirements.
3. Professional Indemnity Insurance
- I maintain Professional Indemnity Insurance to cover the services provided to clients.
- Insurance details are available upon request.
4. Quality Management
- I follow documented procedures to ensure accurate, reliable, and timely bookkeeping and BAS services.
- All client work is reviewed and controlled to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and professional standards.
5. Disclosure and Transparency
- I provide clients with a Disclosure Statement in accordance with TASA2009, outlining my qualifications, professional obligations, and any potential conflicts of interest.
- Clients are informed of fees, service scope, and any changes to services or responsibilities in writing.
6.Ethical Standards
- I uphold the principles of honesty, integrity, independence, confidentiality, and competence in all client interactions.
- I encourage a culture of transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct within Sonic Accounts.
7. Client Communication
- I ensure clear, timely, and professional communication with all clients.
- Clients are advised of any matters that may materially affect their financial or compliance obligations.
8. Commitment to Compliance
- I ensure all work complies with relevant taxation, accounting, and employment laws.
- I advise clients of their obligations under these laws and provide guidance to maintain compliance.
